OUR PROJECTS

Our organization seeks to mitigate the existing challenges associated with disabilities. In its efforts to address these challenges, the organization offers humanitarian support to its members. People with physical and mental disabilities face a number of challenges and the following have been identified as critical;

  • Lack of life supporting/mobility & assistive devices, skills and progressive information
  • Inability/difficulty in entering into economic spheres of society
  • Lack/limited access to medical facilities
  • Lack of technical skills
  • Lack of transport to seek medical attention and/or going about performing daily chores
  • Exclusion from a number of development issues/initiatives
  • Stigmatization associated with disability
  • Society’s negative attitudes in accepting people with disabilities on an equal footing with their able bodied counterparts

The situation in the district is further compounded by problems faced by disadvantaged members of the community especially women, the youth and orphaned children, hence the need to establish organizations that will focus on the needs of the communities and preparedness and readiness of same to fully participate in the socio-economic activities of the nation.
The successful implementation of this project will improve the livelihoods of people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups of society thereby reducing dependence pressure on the wider community and government.
